PECAN PIE SURPRISE BARS
1 package (18 ˝ ounces) yellow cake mix
˝ cup butter or margarine, melted
1 cup chopped pecans
Reserve 2/3 cup dry cake mix for Filling.
Combine remaining dry cake mix in large mixing bowl until crumbly. Press mixture into generously greased (bottom and sides) 13x9 inch baking pan.
Bake in 350-degree oven, for 15 to 20 minutes until light golden brown. Meanwhile, prepare Filling.
Pour Filling over partially baked crust. Sprinkle with pecans. Return to oven.
Bake 30 to 35 minutes longer until Filling is set. Cool. Cut into 36 bars.
Yield: 3 dozen.

1 ˝ cups dark corn syrup
1 teaspoon vanilla
3 eggsCombine all ingredients in large mixer bowl. Beat at medium speed 1 to 2 minutes.
